Last weekend Mr. C and I took a trip back down to Maryland to visit my mom and to go to Artsfest down at Annmarie Garden. It’s an annual event with local artists from the area and I’ve gone the last few years- being a food blogger and all, I can’t pass up an opportunity to check out and buy unique, handmade pottery pieces!
I am quite pleased to say that I bought this stunning plate along with several other pieces which you should be seeing over the next few weeks starring in my upcoming recipes!
Every time I go back, I miss Maryland. I feel like a cat- cat owners, you know what I mean. The whole “stand at the door asking to go out and once the door is open, deciding to stay inside” thing.
New York, Maryland, Maryland, New York. When I’m in NY, I miss Maryland and when I’m in Maryland, I miss NY.
Fall is probably one of my favorite seasons. The change to cooler weather, sweaters, snuggly clothing and crackling leaves. While it was just barely starting to change down there, it’s so much more pronounced than in the city. Visiting my friend’s farm, the changes were already really noticeable.
We were able to wander around while they cooked down sweet sorghum that they had harvested to make sorghum molasses.
This past week has been a very heavy work week and while I don’t expect this coming week to be any better in the near future, I am looking forward to some upcoming trips out of the city over the next few weeks. Hope you’re all enjoying this fall weather!
